University of Akron sophomore Clayton Murphy (New Paris, Ohio) ran the second-fastest time (1:50.54) in the semifinal round of the 800 meters for the United States at the North American, Central American and Caribbean Championships (NACAC) on Friday, Aug. 7, in San Jose, Costa Rica.
