[Men's Track & Field] Lowry wins Decathlon title at All-Ohio

    OXFORD, Ohio - Floyd Lowry gave the University of Rio Grande men's track & field team its first-ever individual title at the All-Ohio Championship, taking the top spot in the Decathlon at the two-day meet, which concluded Saturday at Miami University's Ryder Track.
    Lowry, a sophomore from St. Paris, Ohio, tallied 5,594 points to capture first place in the 10-event competition.
    Lowry placed first in the 1,500-meter run, the 110-meter hurdles and the discus throw, while placing second in the 400-meter dash, pole vault and javelin throw, third in the high jump, long jump and shot put and fourth in the 100-meter dash.
    Lowry's effort helped lead the RedStorm to a seventh place finish among the 14 teams competing - half of which were NCAA Division I institutions.
