    GALLIPOLIS, Ohio – University of Rio Grande track & field head coach Bob Willey has announced the signing of Gallia Academy High School's Shaylin Logan for the 2014 season.
    Logan, a 5-foot-11, 155-pound runner, participated in a number of different events this spring for head coach Paul Close's Blue Devils, including the 400-meter dash, the 100-meter dash, the 1,600-meter run, the 200-meter dash and the long jump.
    Logan established a quartet of personal records as a senior, the first two of which came as part of the Paul Wood Memorial Invitational on April 13 when he completed the 200 in 24.80 and the 400 in 54.32. On May 2 at the Gallia Academy Dual, he had a PR of 19-8 in the long jump and a personal-best finish of 5:45.47 in the 1600.
