Xavier University had seven of its 18 athletic teams receive Public Recognition Awards today from the NCAA. These awards are given each year to teams with APRs in the top 10 percent plus ties in each sport. The seven Xavier teams honored by the NCAA include: men's and women's tennis, women's golf, women's volleyball, women's cross country , women's indoor track and women's outdoor track. The seven Public Recognition Awards ties Xavier with Butler and DePaul for second behind Georgetown (14) among the 10 members of the new BIG EAST, which officially begins as a league on July 1.
