[Track & Field] Kimber, Herring lead Rio track at High Point

    HIGH POINT, N.C. – Kaleb Kimber posted a pair of top 10 finishes for the University of Rio Grande men, while Ciara Herring had a second place finish in the shot put to lead the RedStorm women in the VertKlasse Meeting, Saturday afternoon, at High Point University's Vert Stadium.
    Kimber, a senior from nearby Salisbury, N.C. who is participating in track and field for the first time at the collegiate level, finished fourth in the participation section of the long jump competition with a leap of 20-03.00 and took seventh in the performance section of the high jump with an effort of 6-05.00.
    Herring, a freshman from Bedford, Ohio, gave the Rio women their best outing of the day with a heave of the 35-11.50 in the participation section of the shot put competition.
